Today I'm Watching...Minnesota

Yes, I'm watching Gaza too (who isn't), but frankly I am appalled by the fact that Al Franken will likely be certified the "winner" of Minnesota's Senate seat today. After the 2000 Florida fiasco, I made a decision that I would at least respect legitimate wins by Democrats and not go off on rants about "stolen" elections. However, in this case, I can find no possible way to see the Franken "win" as legitimate. It is almost impossible that Franken would have a lead without the help of several VERY creative decisions by the Minnesota Canvassing Board and Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. It board dictated that Republican-leaning counties had to count ballots differently than Democratic-leaning counties (netting lots of votes for Franken), then Ritchie decided to count "improperly rejected" absentee ballots BEFORE many Republican counties had submitted them (Democratic counties had no trouble submitting the, netting 176 votes for Franken). So...I hoped I'd never have to say this in America, but this particular election is DEFINITELY being stolen.

  1. I have been watching the Franken debacle with interest as well. A very similar thing occurred in my state of Washington 4 years ago with the governor's race. 3 recounts were done and Gregoire won based on the last recount. Turns out she had some of the same legal assistance (including ACORN unsurprisingly) as Franken.

  2. Well, the end justifies the means at least for the scum bags of politics. Gregoire now is in a real bind with WA state's budget crunch. Unfortunately she was re-elected for another term - sigh

  5. Yes, it's being Stolen. It's going to Court though. It's been quite a year for Minnesota. Earlier we had Barack Obama give his pre-Convention acceptance speech at the Excel in St. Paul, Then we had Gov. Palin give her acceptance speech ALSO at the Excel in St. Paul. It's all about falling away from your moorings. Minnesota had one of the first if not the first Pro- Life orginizations in the Country. The MCCL Minnesota Citizens Conerned for life. It was formed way before Roe v. Wade. They could see it coming!! Minnesota had the first infantry down south for the Civil war in part to free the slaves who at the time were not considered persons.......President Elect Barak Obama will be sworn in with a Bible that was used by Abraham Lincoln.
