Kristol-Damon Smackdown - LET'S GET IT ON!!

I love it when people are forced to confront their own stupid comments, and Andrew Brietbart may be facilitating just such a situation for actor Matt Damon. Apparently, Mr. Damon referred to Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol as an "idiot" in a recent interview after Kristol claimed that we won the war in Iraq (Note to Mr. Damon: Iraq is currently a functioning democracy...that would theoretically be the definition of "winning"). Anyway, Breitbart is now offering Damon a cool $100,000 to publicly debate Kristol, and he's already confirmed that Kristol is willing to participate.

Personally, I think Damon should put his money where his mouth is and accept. If Bill Kristol is such a moron, then debating him shouldn't be a problem for someone as eloquent and intelligent as Matt Damon. Of course, there's that little thing about Kristol being one of Washington's leading commentators and Damon being a Hollywood actor...but that's probably not even worth mentioning...I'm sure Matt is more than up to the task.

We in the Palin movement are already well acquainted with Mr. Damon's astute political observations, as he was one of the first celebrities to issue an ignorant diatribe about Sarah Palin after her nomination. I was especially impressed as he described what he seems to think is the most important issue confronting America today (start the tape at the 1:20 mark...though the whole thing is pretty entertaining)

After listening to Mr. Damon's uncommonly keen insight into our current political scene, I think I may also have a good idea who might be the best moderator for the upcoming debate. In fact, I think I know an individual who shares a deep concern for Mr. Damon's issue of choice, and would be able to provide adequately intellectual questions for such an occasion:

*Apologies if this post is positively dripping with sarcasm...but this was simply too good to pass up

  1. Doubt that Mr. Damon will accept the offer. He probably received more than $100,000 for that interview. But I do love your choice of moderator! :)

  5. Damon doesn't have the guts to debate a small child. Or a kitten.

  6. Wait, look carefully at that Barney costume! That's Gwen Ifill in there!

  7. Gwen is much slimmer lately, but unfortunately she's still a liberal----I mean, a progressive (ri-ight.... that term is SO much nicer).

Damon is actually more cogent than MOST Hollywood stars, many of whom have barely finished high school, much less obtained advanced degrees.

What's REALLY sad is that what ANYONE famous says is given import by the LAZY American public, who largely refuse to read extensively.

Well.... the sun is shining, God is in control, and < I > am joining Sarah Pac!

  8. This troll is 38 and he still looks like a 10 year old boy. I honestly think Kristol would have a tougher time with JOHNNY Damon (Yankee CF). Not really a fan of the elite/beltway conservatives like Kristol, so this is the perfect win-win:)

Attention, Matt. The Bourne trilogy were just MOVIES. Sadly the $8.50 I plunked down to go see Bourne Identity is gone forever:(
