California Corruption Spreads

You may remember that I touched off a bit of a firestorm when I called the California College Republican State Committee on the carpet for needlessly de-chartering the chapter at UC-San Dieg0 - but now it looks like that's just the tip of the iceberg. Almost the exact same stunt has now been pulled on the College Republican chapter at the University of the Pacific - but this time he people affected decided to put together a video showing all of the documentation. Please watch this in its entirety - its worth 7 minutes and the best stuff is at the end (If the video stops halfway through, restart it and fast forward to the middle - problems with Facebook Video). I think this really speaks for itself, but the one thing I will say is that this madness has got to stop - and if you must engage in corruption, save it until you have an office that actually means something (like Governor of Illinois). This is getting flat-out disgusting, and its time for people bigger than the College Republicans to start taking notice.

  1. I think the real issue here is why the other members of the UOP CRs, whether officers or not, are so opposed to adam and wade that they felt it necessary/even considered doing this. Obviously there is dissatisfaction among the club members that has nothing to do with either slate.

  2. I don't see how this reflects any type of corruption other than within UOP itself - looks to me like Wade and Adam lost the support of their own hand-picked successors, and then had to go behind their backs to usurp control of the UOP chapter. Funny that they think they have the experience to run the country's largest CR organization when they can't even keep a handle on their own club.

  3. Anonymous,

With all due respect, its rather silly to blame corruption scandals on the victims. Yes, apparently a few corrupt individuals were motivated by their distaste for the current leadership - but its ridiculous to say "well, there would have been no corruption if the victims hadn't made the perpetrators mad."

That argument is just like saying 9/11 wouldn't have happened if we hadn't angered the terrorists, or that fewer rapes would happen if women didn't wear revealing clothing. It's absurd.

The "real issue" is blatant corruption and constitutional violations.

  4. I have a hard time believing anyone involved is actually corrupt, like the last related article, everything is very one-sided and the only thing these videos articles are accomplishing is more fragmentation within the CCRs, i don't think we should ignore it but it has been blown way out of proportion

  6. Funny - I haven't spoken to Mr. Ellison recently - and my REAL issue is UCSD. Plus angry, vitriolic people in my comments section don't inspire much trust.

  7. Adam I'm just gonna say if you really wanna call attention to this you might wanna retitle this entry, because if you start off a blog post with "California corruption" one's bound to think you're talking about Nancy Pelosi
